Rianne Nieuwenhuis

Rianne Nieuwenhuis from Gieten, Netherlands, combines her passion for road racing with fanatic participation in cyclocross during the winter. She loves that cycling is decided not only by power, but also by strategy and teamwork.

Within NXTG Racing, Rianne truly feels part of a family, where she can be both serious and focused while enjoying fun and camaraderie. This helps her grow as a rider and as a person. She mentally prepares for races by creating a daily schedule, which provides her with calmness and focus for the competition.

Her favorite races are the hilly classics, such as The Tour of Flanders (De Ronde van Vlaanderen) and Valromey, and she enjoys watching cyclocross. Rianne’s great inspiration is Puck Pieterse, as she, like Rianne, excels in multiple disciplines and has a great sense of humor.

Her biggest supporters are her parents and brother; she loves taking them to races for extra ‘power’ and good luck. For the upcoming season, Rianne wants to show her potential, develop further, and dreams of participating in the European and World Championships (EK and WK). She values the advice that small steps forward are still steps in the right direction.
